Ayla recently performed as the role of Queequeg in the play, "Ishmaeal" by Benny Lumpkins and Leon Ingulsrud, an adaptation of the classic novel, Moby-Dick by Herman Melville. This ensembe piece ran during the Hollywood Fringe Festival this past June 2012 at TreStage in Hollywood, CA and ArtWorks Theatre, also in Hollywood.
Ishmaeal, a modern interpretation of Herman Melville’s Moby Dick, tells the story of one mans lust to succeed over nature. Ishmaeal takes a look at the whaling industry in 19th century America, while looking at both the obsession of the whale within the story and obsession with oil in today's politics. Much like the book itself, expect experimental interludes and political jabs interwoven with the story of the whale.
Directed and produced by Benny Lumpkins, Lumpkins promises to incite audiences to examine the whaling industry as an alternative fuel source once again.
"This is an ambitious, entertaining take on Melville's "Moby Dick" and well worth a peek. The opening is strong, with well directed imagery and strong, clear characterisations setting out the classic tale. Ayla Rose creates an extraordinary, believable Queequeg and Alex Bennett, despite his youth, a convincing, authoritative, driven Ahab..."

Ayla plays 'VERONICA' in a National Toyota Commercial! 'Connections' aired during the 2012 Superbowl just before the Half Time Show and continues to air during Primetime on ABC and other channels. Watch it HERE!!
She'd like to thank Skirts Casting and her commercial agent, Randy Cabrera!
She says, "It was a windy, cold day in December up near Death Valley when we shot the commercial. Everyone was spectacular on set. I really enjoyed working with Marc, the director. It definitely wasn't easy to pull out that emotional moment between saying yes and hearing a guy pop the question! A good counterpart, nice music and the thought of my real relationship helped that emotion come through."
